LONDON PUB THEATRES MAGAZINE INVITES INTEREST FROM WRITERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO REVIEW SHOWS IN LONDON

SE FEST IS BACK AT JACK STUDIO THEATRE & THE BRIDGE HOUSE THEATRE WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO PERFORM AT BOTH VENUES

SE Fest is a theatre festival based in southeast London to promote and celebrate new writing. It is hosted for the second year by two neighbouring venues, The Bridge House Theatre in Penge and The Jack Studio Theatre in Crofton Park, two award-winning theatres with a reputation for supporting and presenting new work.

SE Fest
 gives companies the unique opportunity to perform at both venues during the festival fortnight.

Se Fest 2025
 runs from Tuesday 2nd – Saturday 13th September 2025.

What we’re looking for


• SE Fest is passionate about plays that engage with how we live today. If you have a new script you want to perform, we’d love to hear from you!
• We’re looking for new work, so all scripts submitted by companies should not have been publicly performed more than three times prior to SE Fest.
• All productions must be socially conscious and demonstrate how they provide opportunities for, or representation of underrepresented groups including, but not limited to: Working class artists, Artists from the Global Majority, Non-binary or gender fluid artists, LGBTQ+ Artists.
• The theatres’ artistic teams will read all applications and confirm the work to be programmed in late June.

If you have a show that you would like considered for programming then please send:
Your script - ideally as a PDF attachment. Your preferred dates and length of run. Details of your company and any creative team or actors on board. Any reviews or images of previous runs elsewhere e.g. in Edinburgh etc.
In line with our programming policy all shows must be socially conscious and demonstrate how they provide opportunities for, or representation of underrepresented groups including, but not limited to:

Working class artists

Artists from the Global Majority

Non binary or gender fluid artists

LGBTQ+ Artists

Artists from the neuro-divergent community.

Since its formation in 2004 Get Over It Productions has always been a safe space for marginalised voices to take the stand. Starting life 16 years ago, touring all-female Shakespeare across the UK Fringe Festivals, these days the stories of all key identity groups are nurtured here. Playwriting Opportunities at BREAD AND ROSES THEATRE

We run the monthly Bread & Roses Playwrights Circle, a friendly and supportive group in which playwrights can share their work and work-in-progress, as well as a biennial Playwriting Award for full-length plays and a biannual scratch night The Platform for short plays. We also publish selected plays from our theatre programme.

NewsRevue is the world’s longest running live comedy show at it's home in Canal Cafe Theatre, Little Venice, Edinburgh Fringe and the West End.  This current affairs parody song and sketch show is acknowledged as a “rite of passage for all comedy newcomers” (Chortle).

DATABASE FOR STAGE MANAGERS AND THEATRE TECHNICIANS


Since the pandemic there has been a shortage of  Stage Managers and Theatre Technicians in London.  Bridge House Theatre is compiling a database which they will share with other off west end and independent theatres.
